And even though we may be out for a few months since the launch of the iPhone 14, rumors about the colors of the new phones are still spreading.
It’s easy to find out why so much talk is given whenever a new iPhone is on the job – without the iPhone 14 display, colors will be the first thing we see on Apple’s latest devices. They represent Apple’s opportunity to put a unique stamp on this update cycle, especially with the iPhone 14 expected to look more like its predecessor (even the iPhone 14 Pro is suspected of issuing a double disconnect note).
The colors of the iPhone 14 will not be the biggest feature in Apple’s new phones – not when the Pro models are in line to get the 48MP main camera and new A16 processor while the iPhone 14 Max model can deliver a 6.7 handset -chart more affordable. Apple system. But they will take part in seeing our new phones when it arrives later this year.
So what can we expect in terms of the colors of the iPhone 14? Previous rumors do not suggest from the colors we have now, except for one big one. With the understanding that other color options may appear between now and the release date of the iPhone 14, here’s what we’ve heard so far about Apple’s color choices allegedly in its next phones.

IPhone 14 colors: What we have heard so far
The most prominent rumor of the iPhone 14 comes in April when the recently deleted Weibo post spotted by AppleTrack (opens in a new tab) states that the purple iPhone option is on the way. A post on China’s social media site also predicted that Apple would change the current blue color of the iPhone 13 to a blue one in the sky.
It’s not just the iPhone 14 that needs to be redesigned. Similar rumors have it that the iPhone 14 Pro will feature a purple option, or there may be a dark matte shade in line with Apple’s Pro hand style.
It would not be the first time Apple has played purple. In the spring of 2021, the company released the purple versions of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini six months after the phones were initially released. (Apple repeats that strategy this spring with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, this time only a new shade was green.) The iPhone 11 also came in purple.
The following rumors of the color of the iPhone 14 did little to dispel the notion that the purple option is to visit phones this fall. In fact, new reports have even included the purple iPhone 14 Pro offering, though this has been an illegal offer based entirely on rumors.
In May, MacRumors (opens in a new tab) summarizes the status of the iPhone 14 color rumors so far, with the addition of the purple option a major change. Otherwise, the report has black, white, blue and [Product] options that make up the current categories of iPhone 13 and iPhone 13. (Note that Apple has begun calling its black and white phones “Midnight” and “Starlight,” respectively. ) Pink and green colors will be reduced to this.
As for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the new purple hue will join silver, gold and graphite as reported color options. Both the Sierra Blue color available since the launch of the iPhone 13 Pro and the Alpine Green version launched in the spring will be dropped.
IPhone 14 Colors: Looking at the latest models
When you evaluate what color iPhone 14 rumors you should believe, it sometimes helps to go back and review Apple’s recent history. The colors Apple used before may not tell us much about future options, but the number of colors available at launch can tell us a lot.
You can see a few trends in that chart. First, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 were released with five color options, finally adding the sixth option to match the twelve colors that came with the iPhone 11. The Pro series contains a few options – only four per model year for the past three years.
Standard iPhones – including the 6.1-inch model, and the smaller one in the age when Apple released the integrated flag – always feature black, white and Product [Red] Product options. The remaining colors vary from year to year. Currently Pro and Pro Max models usually offer Graphite (or Space Gray, if you want to go to old school) next to silver and gold. The fourth color revolves around Pro options.
IPhone 14 Colors: Expecting to see you
Looking at Apple’s record in recent years, it seems reasonable to expect that Apple will offer five options for the colors of the iPhone 14 / iPhone 14 Max and four options for the Pro models. We would expect the black, white and red options to return to the iPhone 14 while the graphite, silver and gold seem to have been nailed to the iPhone 14 Pro.
That leaves two gaps for standard iPhone models and one Pros option left. Given that the color purple is the only ongoing rumor right now, it sounds like the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will add that color, even though we expected the pro version to be significantly reduced.
As for the remaining color of the iPhone 14, it will probably drop to the current three colors – blue, pink or green – which sold the best of the iPhone 13. I’m not sure about the blue rumors that came out of Weibo in April. However, the green iPhone 13 strikes as a good style, and we would hate to see it disappear soon after arrival.
